Elura Arrives

The Canon Elura I ordered recently was delivered today! It’s so much smaller then I thought it was. It fits nicely in my palm and all the controls seem to be easy to work. I need to figure out some of the settings but I think I should be able to figure them out. The light works really well and adds just enough when you need a bit more light. I haven’t tried the microphone jack yet though. The manual says it needs a mic that has it’s own power so I might need to invest in an external mic to use with the video camera. Anyone have experience with external mics for video cameras? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can now begin to crank out more videos for the blog.

Gift Cards

I got some more gift cards today.

$25 American Express Card
$25 Visa Card
$25 Micro Center Card
$50 Apple Card

With all these cards I made some decisions today. I took all the Apple Gift Cards and ordered a Canon Elura 100 camcorder. This one has a built in mic jack as well as a built in light that I can use anytime. After the Apple cards were applied, I only had to pay 59 bucks for the camcorder. Very cool. I know my current video camera is only about a year old but it doesn't have the features I really want and while I had the gift cards I thought it'd be a good time to upgrade. Another cool feature is that it records in wide screen. I'm not sure how I'd use that feature but I'll play with it when I get it and figure it out.

Almost all the other cards will be used for a gift for the boyfriend. I won't say what I'll get him (because he reads the blog) but his birthday is coming up next month and I know what he wants. Maybe I can do some shopping next week while he's gone. My holiday break has begun and I'm off until January 2nd. I really need the time off.

The boyfriend arrived safely in New Orleans this evening. I'm glad he got there okay. I'm already missing him but know he's enjoying visiting with his family.

Wrapping Gifts

I spent the evening wrapping the boyfriend’s presents. I was completely in the holiday mood. I decided to watch one of the holiday movies I recorded on the DVR. There are several on there to watch but I decided to watch The Bishop’s Wife. What a great movie. In some respects it would be wonderful to return to that time. Things were simpler then. It was made in 1947 and was full of hope. They don’t make movies like that anymore. I did some searching on the internet and found this trailer…if you can call it a trailer. By the end of the movie the gifts were all wrapped. I hope the boyfriend likes them!

The boyfriend is coming over for a rare week night visit. He’s coming over because he’ll be out of town for the holiday and we won’t see each other. I’m making him dinner and having him open his presents. I’m sure we’ll have a nice evening.
